As the services offered vary, so do
prices. Piano tuning is one of the most popular services requested.
Currently, the price for tuning is $95.00 (mention this web
page for $5.00 off the regular tuning price). Discounts are
available for regular customers, multiple pianos, and piano
teachers. Types of payment accepted: Cash, check, Visa, and
MasterCard. Billing is available for commercial accounts. Please
contact for me for more information. Do not select a piano tuner or
technician based on price alone. Consider the following to make an
intelligent decision:
Does the piano tuner even play the piano? It may sound like a
trivial question, however you would be surprised at just how many
piano tuners cannot even play the instrument. Since I have been
playing the piano for over 45 years, I can use my performance
experiences to better evaluate and adjust the customer's instrument
to achieve a higher standard of excellence.
Is the piano tuner a registered technician? Caution is advised when
selecting a piano tuner-technician to service your piano. State and
Federal Governments do not license the piano service industry, thus
anyone can claim to be a qualified piano tuner. I highly recommend
any piano owner to contact a member of the Piano Technicians Guild
to service their instrument. I have been a Registered Piano
Technician (RPT) Craftsman Member since 1977. The Piano
Technicians Guild also has another class of membership known as an
"Associate". This is one who has not passed the RPT examinations.
Associates may be studying piano technology and working toward RPT
status."
The most important thing the Piano Technicians Guild does is to
qualify technicians as Registered Piano Technicians to assure
quality piano service by requiring that a technician pass a rigorous
set of examinations. The RPT credential shows that the technician is
ready to handle normal piano service and repair. The Piano
Technicians Guild has put a lot of time and effort into its
examinations to establish a good set of standardized tests which
will help insure quality piano service". (Source: Piano Technicians
